Yala province in the south goes into lockdown
Governor Chaisit Panitpong of Yala imposed measures preventing anyone from traveling in or out of the southern province.
Traveling in and out of the province is restricted from tomorrow until July 7
The lockdown will be implemented from today, June 15, to July 7, 2021.
“If everyone follows the measures, I believe the number of Covid-19 patients will continually decrease,” said the governor. “If the situation improves after two weeks, we will ease the lockdown.”
Yala Medical Chief Officer Dr Songkran Maichoom said the number of Covid-19 patients in Yala has increased to over 500. Among 100 patients, one dies, Thai Residents reported.
As of today, five people have died. “If we do nothing, the number of patients may rise to 600, with more deaths,” he added.
