Two Filipino English teachers arrested in Bangkok
The Immigration Bureau announced that two Filipino English teachers in Thailand have been arrested in Bangkok.
According to the bureau’s deputy commissioner Pol Maj Gen Achayon Kraithong, David Louie Laxamana, 38, and Taruc Aurea Antonio, 32, were apprehended at a condominium on Serithai Road in Bung Kum district.
The two arrived in Thailand in 2009, one on Nov 12 and the other on Dec 27.
Officers in Manila notified the bureau that the pair fled the Philippines and hid in Thailand from car theft charges. Interpol had also issued a red notice for their arrest.
The Filipino English teachers who were teaching at a school in Bangkok, got their visas revoked, and were taken to immigration headquarters for legal proceedings.
