Travel restrictions may be lifted this weekend, gov’t official said
BANGKOK —As Covid-19 cases continue to wind down, travel restrictions in the kingdom might be completely lifted this weekend, said a senior official Tuesday (June 2).
According to Deputy transport ministry perm-sec Anon Luangboriboon, if the government approves the ministry’s proposal to recommence all public transportation, the action could possibly begin as early as Saturday.
In a report from Khaosod English, “some public transport operators previously extended their service hours and resumed some of their long haul journeys following the government’s shortening of the curfew hours last month, though traveling to the southern region remains largely difficult since many provinces there restricted inbound travels.”
