Three test positive for COVID-19, search on for other passengers
CHIANG RAI — Three passengers on a VIP tour bus who traveled from Bangkok to Chiang Rai during the Bangkok travel rush have tested positive for Covid-19, officials said, noting that all of them are from the same family.
All fellow passengers on the bus need to be screened, the
Chiang Rai deputy governor, Mr. Pasakorn Boonyalak, and Dr. Tossathep Boonthong, the provincial health chief, told the media on Tuesday that they are asking passengers on Sombat Tour Company’s bus No 16-3473, which left Bangkok for Chiang Saen on March 21st at 7.15pm, to report to provincial health officials for screening.
All three confirmed COVID-19 cases from the bus are now being treated at Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital.
On March 24, Khaosod English reported that a man who traveled from Bangkok to Chiang Rai during the travel rush was also tested positive of the virus. It is unclear whether he is part of the family or not.
