Thailand confirms 127 new Covid-19 cases, total jumps to 1,651
BANGKOK — The Public Health Ministry on Tuesday (March 31) reported 127 new Covid-19 infections, with one death, raising the total number in the country to 1,651 and 10 deaths.
Of that number 1,407 are Thai nationals while 244 are foreign ex-pats and tourists.
Greater Bangkok accounts for 869 patients, while the number of infected in the country’s south rose to 206.
“The government is satisfied to an extent that the numbers have not shot up,” said government spokesman Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin. “But we must not rest and take it easy, we must stay vigilant and practice social distancing.”
