Thailand adds three new Covid cases

Thailand adds three new cases of coronavirus, the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) confirmed on Sunday, August 9.

A male Bangladeshi, an Indian woman and a female Thai hotel staff are among Thailand’s latest Covid 19 cases after the 76th day without domestic cases since May.

According to the CSSA, the 31 year old male Bangladeshi merchant, a 41-year-old Indian woman, and a 30-year-old female Thai hotel employee who had returned from the United States all tested positive after a 24-hour state quarantine in Bangkok quarantine facilities.

The CSSA reported that the three latest cases were all asymptomatic.

As of Sunday, August 9, Thailand has recorded a total number of 3,351 (414 state quarantine) confirmed Covid 19 cases. In the list of cases, 142 are under treatment, 3,151 have recovered and been discharged, and there have been 58 deaths.

Meanwhile, Covid 19 cases in the Philippines continue to climb further to nearly 130,000 on Sunday, August 9, with 3,109 new cases added to the tally.

This brings the country’s total confirmed COVID-19 cases to 129,913, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.
