The Meteorological Department announced on Wednesday that winter in Thailand is expected to begin on Saturday, October 29.
Winter will arrive two weeks later than normal and cold weather can be expected until late February next year, the department said.
The lowest temperature drop will be between December this year and January next year.
Mountain peaks and hilltops can expect a drop in temperature to as low as 8 degrees Celsius while Bangkok can anticipate lows of 17 to 19 degrees Celsius.
Weather in some areas of the upper South, the department said, would be cold on some days.
