Thai Tourist Police won a feather in their cap for the second time this week after successfully tracking down a wristwatch lost by a tourist in Bangkok.
Mohammed Jaber Almarri, was reported to have forgotten his bag carrying a Casio wristwatch in a taxi he had taken from CentralWorld shopping complex to Lang Suan Road.
The 38-year-old Qatari national called the police at around 4.30 pm and informed them of the situation.
Pol Colonel Piyarat Suparat, Tourist Police Division 1 chief, ordered his men to track down the taxi. They got hold of Wichit Na Pang, the cabbie, and told him to come to Pathumwan Police Station on Monday to drop off the wristwatch.
Mr. Almarri was delighted to have been reunited with his wristwatch and wrote on the feedback form saying, “I thank tourism police for what they did for me and to get my lost [stuff] back. Love Thailand.”
Earlier this week, Thai Tourist police received praise after helping two Saudi Arabian travelers to track down their lost items. The two tourists forgot their luggage in the taxi they took from Suvarnabhumi Airport to their hotel early Sunday.
