Thai PM Prayut Chan-o-cha welcomes President Rodrigo Duterte in Bangkok ahead of plenary meetings
BANGKOK: Thailand Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha officially welcomed President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines in a formal ceremony held at the Government House in Bangkok on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
Chakri Shrichawana, the Acting Chief of Protocol of Thailand, and Robert Borje, Philippine Protocol Officer-in-charge, introduced each country’s dignitaries after a short jovial ceremony with the Thai honour guards.
President Duterte and his delegation flew in on Monday straight from a two-day visit in Myanmar.
After the welcome ceremonies, President Duterte is scheduled to hold a plenary meeting with Prime Minister Chan-o-cha which is expected to be followed by the signing of several documents to further enhance cooperation on agriculture, tourism, science and technology, and combating illegal drug trafficking.
President Duterte is also set to meet with the Filipino community in the kingdom on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Royal Thai Navy Hall.
