Temperature at Doi Inthanon plummets to 6 degrees Celsius
CHIANG MAI — Tourists looking to experience cool weather in Doi Inthanon National Park during the weekend were not disappointed.
On Monday morning, the temperature plummeted to 6°C at the Kiew Mae Pan, a beautiful viewpoint for sunrise and mist. At the top of Doi Inthanon, the temperature was 7°C.
According to park chief Kriangkrai Chaipiset, there were 3,920 people who visited the country’s highest mountain.
Kriangkrian said tourists wishing to visit Doi Inthanon will have their temperature taken and will be asked to wear a face mask. They will also be advised to wash their hands and observe social distancing rules.
The Meteorological Department predicted that “this year’s cold season would be colder and longer, with the “sea of mist” and morning frost crystals appearing sooner than usual.”
