A teacher in Sing Buri has been placed on forced leave after being accused of  sexual assault.

Sing Buri Provincial Education Office said if the teacher is found guilty of sexually abusing a female student, he will be dismissed from the teaching profession effective September 28.

The director of the Protection and Rescue Centre for Sexually-Harassed Students, Chana Summat, told The Nation his organization needs about a week to investigate the sexual assault case.

Summat said once the truth is found, the erring teacher is dismissed from public education. “We set up a committee to investigate the inappropriate actions,” he said.

“Since the centre was established in March, every case it had investigated had resulted in the accused teacher being found guilty and having their teaching licence cancelled,” he added.
