Taxi driver charged with raping Brazilian passenger
SUPHAN BURI, Thailand – A taxi driver has been arrested in Nonthaburi province Wednesday, April 26, after raping a Brazilian passenger he had picked up from Don Mueang Airport on Tuesday.
Kamkooncharoen Konchaturat, 44, was charged with rape and detaining a person against her will.
The victim, 23 year-old Brazilian national, told police she arrived at the airport at about 10 p.m. last night and hired the taxi to take her to Thonglor. But instead of driving to her destination, the driver took detours and brought her to Suphan Buri province where he sexually assaulted her and fled.
The tourist was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police said the taxi driver was driving a yellow and green cab with licence plate number Thor Yor 4448.
