Supporters in Thailand take to Facebook to greet President Duterte on his birthday
BANGKOK. Several Filipino organizations in Bangkok gathered on Tuesday, March 28, to greet President Rodrigo Duterte on his 72nd birthday.
In a video posted via Facebook, the groups – Partners for Change – Thailand, Thailand OFW, Philippine Expats Unified (PEU), SWD Kapamilya and Pinoy Tayo – Thailand have expressed their wishes and love to President Duterte whom they refer as “Tatay Digong”.
In his initial video post, Donjie Mejia Bardos, the event organizer, introduced the different groups represented in the gathering. ” Hello! We are here live in Chatuchak Park together with the Partners for Change, Thailand OFW, PEU, SWD Kapamilya and Pinoy Tayo here in Thailand. This gathering is for the video of our president Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s birthday greetings,” he said.
Bardos went on to introduce the members present in the gathering. Towards the end of the live video, Bardos invited his Filipino viewers to join them in the park to send wishes to the country’s chief executive.
On behalf of everybody in the gathering, Bardos also wrote a birthday message for President Duterte. “Happy 72nd Birthday President Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” he stated. “God bless the Philippines! Maraming salamat Tatay Digong dahil sayo nanumbalik ang pagiging makabayan namin, kaming mga OFW dito sa Thailand hindi na mahihiyang magsabing “MASARAP at nakakaproud maging Filipino”, Bardos added.
