Spider-Man’s New Sidekick in “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” a Filipino
Singapore – Spider-Man’s new sidekick in the upcoming movie “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is a pure-blooded Filipino.
Chika Minute anchor Iya Villania traveled to Singapore’s ArtScience Museum to attend the meet and greet event of “our friendly neighborhood” casts.
In a report from GMA News TV’s “Balitanghali” on Friday, fans in large numbers wearing Spider-Man costumes came to the event and walked in the red carpet.
Hollywood actor Tim Holland, the youngest actor to don the spidey costume, will have Jacob Batalon, a pure-blooded Filipino who grew up in Hawaii, as his sidekick.
When Iya asked Jacob what brings out the Filipino in him, Jacob answered “Filipino food and my mom.”
“I love Sinigang, I love Adobo,” Jacob added.
Before the interview ended, Tim Holland thanked his Filipino fans. “Everyone in the Philippines, thank you so much for your love and we love you back, you guys are great,” the Hollywood actor said.
