Somdet Phra Pingklao Bridge to be closed on August 24
Are you one of those who cross the Chao Phraya River to and from Bangkok’s old quarter via the Somdet Phra Pingklao Bridge? The busy bridge will be closed overnight in two weeks so you will have to find another route across.
According to the Department of Rural Roads, the Somdet Phra Pingklao Bridge which will turn 46 in September, will close at 11 pm on August 24 and will reopen the following day at 5 am for a restoration study to be conducted.
Motorists should take the Rama VIII Bridge to the north as an alternate route.
