Senator Sotto slams SEA Games opening critics
Senator Vicente Sotto III slammed on Monday the critics of the Philippines’ hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
“Sumobra na dunong ng mga pintasero. Pati si Ryan Cayabyab, Jimmy Antiporda, Eloisa Matias and also the group that directed the opening ceremonies of the London Olympics gusto pang pakialaman,” the Senate President said in a message to reporters.
The Senator was enraged particularly to the people disapproving of the opening ceremonies and the pre-taped lighting of the cauldron by boxing legend and Senator Manny Pacquiao and Women’s World Boxing Champion Nesthy Petecio which officially signaled the start of the regional games.
According to Sotto, the segment of the Queen and James Bond in the opening ceremonies of the London Olympics was also pre-recorded.
“Walang umangal (doon). Dito sa atin reklamo ang mga epal bakit daw hiwalay at recorded ‘yung lighting ni Manny,” he said.
“I will not be surprised if these people are praying that we do not win!” he added.
Senator Sotto also branded the critics as selfish.
