School in Bangkok ends homework for students
BANGKOK — A school in Bangkok has announced that it will no longer give homework to its students.
Bavornnivet Temple School in Bangkok set a precedent following its announcement that it will not assign homework to its students, Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported yesterday, February 19.
Dr. Amnart Witchayanuwat, secretary-general of the Elementary Education Committee (EEC), promptly welcomed the decision, saying that it will help lesses stress among the students.
According to Dr. Amnart, it is better for teachers to assign work that enables students to analyse topics and present them in class.
“Assigning homework alone is not enough to help students think outside the box,” he added.
