Royal Thai Navy pays courtesy call on new Philippine Navy chief
The Royal Thai Navy paid the Philippine Navy a visit on Wednesday with the objective of boosting the defense cooperation between the two ASEAN countries.
Royal Thai Navy Vice Admiral Chanint Phadungkiat, director of Maritime Enforcement Operations Command Center (Thai-MECC), and his contingent paid a courtesy call on Flag Officer in Command Rear Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo at the Navy’s headquarters, GMA News reported.
Bacordo on Monday formally assumed his post as the new Flag Officer In Command of the Philippine Navy, succeeding now-retired Vice Admiral Robert Empedrad.
During the meeting, enhancing the defense cooperation for both navies were discussed by the officials.
The Philippine Navy has committed to continue and enhance its commitment to strengthen ties and friendship with other regional navies.
