Pope wishes to strengthen the bonds of friendship with Thai Buddhist
VATICAN CITY — Days before his official visit to Thailand, Pope Francis said he wished to strengthen the bonds of friendship with Thai Buddhists.
In the video posted on Friday night lasting nearly 3 minutes, the supreme pontiff said he trusts that his visit will help to highlight the importance of inter-religious dialogue, mutual understanding, and fraternal cooperation, especially in the service of the poor and the most needy and in the service of peace.
The Pope also said that “at this time we need to work so much for peace.”
And before he ended his speech, Pope Francis said he brings everyone to his prayers. “I pray for you, for your families, for your country; and I ask you, please, not to stop praying for me too.”
The Pope is scheduled to visit Thailand from November 20 to 23.
