Pattani declares total shutdown to prevent Covid-19 spread
Pattani Governor Kraisorn Wisitwong today (March 28, 2020) announced a total shutdown of the province to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Residents of the southern Thai province are barred from traveling to neighboring provinces, but people in charge of medical care, transporting medical equipment and necessities are allowed to do so on a case-by-case basis, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported.
Local residents who violate the governor’s orders face a one-year jail term and/or a fine of 100,000 baht.
