Parts of Bangkok hammered by rain and hail | The Pinoy Legacy
BANGKOK — Some parts of the capital were hammered by heavy rain and hail.
Bangkokians were excited to post their photos and videos on social media of an unusual sight that greeted some parts of the capital on Friday (October 4).
Pratunam, Phaya Thai, and Siam districts were hammered by heavy rain which resulted in flooding, but the rain was accompanied by no less than hail.
“Hail forms in towering, saturated thunderclouds with strong updrafts, but the temperature is low enough to freeze water droplets that are so large and heavy they escape the updrafts and plunge to the ground,” reported The Nation.
