Panic Buying: Product shortages at some outlets
BANGKOK — The growing spread of Covid-19 in Thailand brings escalating fears leading to panic buying or stocking of goods.
Photos of people buying things in bulk such as drinking water, rice, canned foods, instant noodles, etc, were all over the Thai social media, particularly the ones in Bangkok.

According to Thansettakij newspaper, a salesman at a modern trade shop in Bangkok’s Lat Phrao district admitted that several products were sold out and stocks needed to be replenished.
“We are not at a stage where we need to stockpile food,” Gen Prayut said after a meeting to address the growing spread of the coronavirus in the country.
