Nonthaburi Curfew: Governor imposes curfew from 11 pm to 5 am
NONTHABURI — The governor of Nonthaburi late Tuesday afternoon imposed a curfew on all residents to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
The whole Nonthaburi province will observe an 11 pm to 5 a.m. curfew starting tomorrow, April 1, according to the order of Governor Suchin Chaichumsak. Cargo carriers are exempted, as well as those with duties to perform during the period or have an emergency.
Bangkok is not a province but a special administrative region, therefore, the curfew does not apply within its borders.
It is not clear as to when the curfew will be lifted as there was no date given.
The governor was granted emergency powers to unilaterally shut down any venues deemed necessary to contain the virus. Those powers are currently set to expire at the end of April but may be extended.
