‘No Bangkok shutdown,’ said Covid-19 Situation Administration spokesman
Bangkok will not announce further measures or shut down the city, Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, confirmed today (March 31).
As the number of daily confirmed cases remains at an acceptable level, Bangkok officials will not announce more measure to force people to stay at home. But he asked the public to cooperate with the government to flatten the curve of confirmed cases.
He pointed out that tomorrow will be April Fool’s Day, when people normally lie for fun. He, however, asked the public not to lie about being infected with Covid-19, otherwise, this would raise panic. He warned that those who spread lies or fake news might face punishment.
