BANGKOK – The Prime Minister’s Office is scheduled to hold a 10-day event from 5th to 14th of December at Sanam Luang ceremonial grounds in Bangkok, in honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great (Rama IX).

The activities such as merit-making ceremonies, homage-paying in front of the portrait of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, folk presentations, food exhibitions, souk of local products, and public services will be the acme of the event.

In preparation for the event, the government’s Public Relations Department (PRD) had organized a press tour last December 3 with the members of the media to witness the arrangements for this occasion.

People are invited to join many activities in relation to this momentous event. They as well are encouraged to wear yellow shirts.

The 5th of December is Thailand’s National Father’s Day and the Late King’s birthday. Similarly, each year also marks a highly important day when the global community celebrates the “World Soil Day” as declared by the United Nations General Assembly, in gratitude of the remarkable accomplishments of His Majesty the late King in this field.
