Marvel encouraged to pen solo series for Filipino superhero ‘Wave’
In recognizing the continued success of Filipino artists, Comic Odyssey and Filbar — the country’s local comic book store — organized the SuperManila Pop Culture Convention held at the Podium in Pasig City from Friday to Sunday this week.
One of the Filipino comic book legends being celebrated is Leinil Yu.
Yu has illustrated for Wolverine, X-Men, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and Captain America, and made headlines recently for designing Wave, a Cebuana Marvel superhero.
The event featured a signature campaign encouraging comic book giant Marvel to create a solo series for its new Filipino superhero Wave.
