Marck Espejo hailed best player of the match in Thai league debut
Marck Espejo didn’t let his Thai team Visakha and his country the Philippines down following their 25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 25-22 win against Prince Finance on Sunday in the Volleyball Thailand League.
After making an impression when he scored 25 points in his first match with his new club, the Philippine volleyball sensation also contributed four blocks and an ace.
One notable moment happened in the fourth set when Espejo’s strong back row attack hit Soun Channaro of Cambodia in the face. He approached his opponent and apologized.
The Filipino and five-time UAAP MVP was recognized best player of the match.
“We started slow that’s why the game was close,” Marck Espejo said in a TV interview. “I think in the first set we were so complacent. We were relaxed but we got the set.”
Espejo’s stint with Visakha Volleyball Club is his second internationally. His first was with Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler in the Japan V. Premier League when he first played in 2018.
