BANGKOK — Eighteen years ago today the fate of the Middle-earth hangs in the balance in the epic ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy. The Dark Lord Sauron is trying to make a comeback as he seeks the “One Ring To Rule Them All.” That prompted Frodo and his companions called the “Fellowship of the Ring” to begin their journey to Mount Doom in the land of Mordor, the only place where the Ring can be destroyed.

A walk down memory lane, right?

If you wish to relive those moments, the Bangkok Screening Room (BKKSR) located in Soi Sala Daeng 1 is going to dedicate the whole afternoon and evening of September 1 to screen not just one but all three films of the trilogy. The first movie will start at 11:30 am.

Tickets for ‘Fellowship of the Ring,’ ‘The Two Towers,’ and ‘Return of the King’ must be bought separately. But if you fancy seeing all three films, BKKSR offers a 15 percent discount. Just go straight to the box office in person to get the discount package, Khaosod English reported.

Note that the screenings of Lord of the Rings are the “theatrical” versions and not the longer “extended” editions.

Note: The theatrical versions (the ones shown at cinemas) will be screened and not the extended or uncut versions. The films will have Thai subtitles, and tickets which cost 300 baht each for adults and 250 baht each for students can be purchased online. Bangkok Screening Room is located in Soi Sala Daeng 1, a walking distance from BTS Sala Daeng exit No. 4 or MRP Lumphini exit No. 2.
