Lopburi gold shop heist: Suspect’s way to be shot and killed by police
LOPBURI — The suspect in the January 9 Lopburi gold shop heist in which three people were killed has confessed to the crime, Lopburi police said, adding that stress drove him to do what he did so he will be shot and killed by police.
On the day of the robbery, however, Prasittichai Khaokaew allegedly said there were no police nearby.
Police said, as reported by The Nation, the suspect claimed to have thrown all stolen golds into Singburi river.
A close friend of the suspect, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Prasittichai, despite his gentle demeanor, had a bad temper and is deep in debt from betting on football.
