Laotian woman arrested over visa stamps

A Laotian woman who overstayed her visa was apprehended Thursday morning after immigration officials in Nong Khai found out she was allegedly using fake visa stamps.

In a report from The Nation, Deputy Inspector Pol Captain Apichart Khontha of the Nong Kha immigration Police, identified the Laotian woman as “Annie”, with no surname, aged 29, and a resident of Vientiane.

According to the police, Annie confessed that she wanted to return home. She however overstayed her visa by 251 days while working in Bangkok. Her friend who created the fake visa stamps showing she had previously entered and left Thailand multiple times received 1,500 baht from her.
