Karinderya owners earn praises for feeding evacuees in Batangas
BAUAN, Batangas — A family who owns a karinderya has earned praises from netizens after it opened its door to feed evacuees in Batangas for free.
“Free food to all evacuees!! Malapit lang po sa kanto ng manghinao 😇 Feel free to come po! 💖 Salamat din po sa mga nagbigay ng tulong.😇God Bless us all,” said a Facebook post from Angel Efryl Castillo.
At the time of writing, the Facebook post has 31k reactions, 2.5k comments, and 34k shares.
The Taal Volcano, about 37 miles (60 kilometers) south of Manila, erupted on Sunday afternoon. Authorities ordered evacuations for three towns, with Manila International Airport suspending flight arrivals and departures.
