Journey by train between Thailand and Malaysia for just 50 baht
The Shuttle Train which links Thailand and Malaysia will finally resume services on Friday, July 15.
After two years of being temporarily suspended due to Covid-19, travelers can start taking the Hat Yai-Padang Besar Shuttle Train again.
The trip between the southern city of Hat Yai to Malaysia’s Padang Besar takes about 1 hour and tickets cost 50 baht or 7 Malaysian ringgits.
If you’re coming from Thailand, the first train will leave at 7:30 am (number 947) while the other one is at 2 pm (number 949).
Two trains will also leave Malaysia every day — one at 8:55am (number 948) and another at 3.40 pm (number 950).
Despite being old with no air conditioning (only fans), the Shuttle Train is expected to be busy once it reopens.
