HORRIFIC: Young Thai dad hangs 11 month-old baby on Facebook LIVE
PHUKET, Thailand – A 20-year old father from Phuket hanged his 11 month-old daughter to death on Facebook LIVE before hanging himself on Monday, April 24.
The video which lasted about 4 minutes showed the young father, Wuttisan (surname withheld), tying a rope around the baby’s neck then throwing the infant over the edge at an abandoned building. The clip was posted at 5:45 p.m yesterday, police said.
Police authorities told Phuket News that Jiranuch (surname withheld), the 21 year-old wife of Wuttisan, called the police attention when she learned about the Facebook LIVE video that immediately went viral.
The police later found the body of the baby girl on the rooftop and the father’s body hanging from a beam of the building located near a five-star hotel at Naithon Beach in Tambon Choeng Thalay of Thalang district.
The young mother told the police she had a fight with her boyfriend because he suspected she had an affair with another guy. She said she left their house at about 3 a.m. on Monday after he checked her phone and threatened to kill her.
The horrific video clip remained on Wuttisan’s Facebook page for nearly 24 hours. On Tuesday evening, the footage is no longer accessible.
In an email to The Nation, Facebook spokesperson confirmed that the giant social network has removed the harrowing video. “This is an appalling incident and our hearts go out to the family of the victim. There is absolutely no place for content of this kind on Facebook and it has now been removed,” the spokesperson said.
