Heavy rains, hailstorms forecast in most areas this week
Bangkok – The Thai Meteorological Department issued a weather warning in most areas of a tropical storm this week.
Residents in the North and Northeast are advised to brace themselves for heavy rains, gusty winds and hailstorms until 23 March, said Director-General Wanchai Sakudomchai of the Meteorological Department.
Central Plains will be affected as well including Nakhon Sawan, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya including Bangkok and its vicinity – with Don Muang and Rangsit to be hit greatly.
The director also advised people to stay indoors or far from large trees and street signs due to frequent lightning strikes. He also added that hailstorms could happen anywhere in Thailand this week particularly in the North East and certain areas of Bangkok such as Bang Khen, Don Muang and Rangsit due to higher temperatures.
