Several districts in Chiang Rai were reported to have been battered by a hailstorm that damaged houses and agricultural products in the province.

According to a Khaosod article dated February 6, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office in each area is assessing the damage brought by the storm.

The Meteorological Department has warned of western wind waves from Myanmar moving to cover northern Thailand. This causes thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail, as well as lightning strikes in some areas.

Provinces that will be most affected are Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, and Sukhothai.

The temperature in the upper North is also expected to drop from 3-5 degrees Celsius.
