Govt plans to reopen border checkpoints in deep South from Dec 16
The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) is planning to reopen border checkpoints in the deep South by December 16.
According to deputy government spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek, vaccine rollout in Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat has been sped up.
Borders that are being considered to reopen are Sadao checkpoint in Songkhla, Sungai Kolok in Narathiwat, Betong in Yala and Satun’s Wang Prachan checkpoint.
The move is a bid to improve the tourism sector in the South, Ratchada said.
