Foreigner plunges to his death at Suvarnabhumi airport

SAMUT PRAKAN: A foreigner has died after a fatal plunge in an apparent suicide at 6 am in Suvarnabhumi airport at Samut Prakan province.

Security personnel were called to the scene in the early hours of Thursday after a report that a man had jumped from the fourth level and landed on the first floor of the airport.

Airport authorities identified the man as  Allan Paul Grimes, 32, a holder of Australian and Irish passports.

Grimes was given first aid at the airport and was immediately brought to Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital where he succumbed to death at 8:06 am.

It wasn’t immediately clear why he jumped. Police investigation is still on going according to reports.
