Foreign teacher and school owner arrested in Chumphon
CHUMPHON — Working without a permit is illegal, and immigration is getting more serious in cracking down illegal foreigners. Yesterday, a foreign teacher from Pakistan was arrested by the immigration police in Chumphon for working without a permit.
Under the leadership of Pol Lt.-Col Charoenpong Khantilo together with Department of Employment officials, immigration police visited a school in Chumphon’s Don Yang sub-district.
A 50-year-old foreign teacher from Pakistan was found to be teaching without a permit. She also did not have a passport.
The Pakistani was charged with illegal working and illegal entry into Thailand said the report of local news website Naew Na.
The school owner was also apprehended and charged with hiring a foreigner.
