It’s Official: Foo Fighters Coming to Bangkok This Year
Concert promoter Live in Bangkok confirmed Monday night that Foo Fighters, the American rock legends of the 90s, is coming to Bangkok later this year after 21 years.
Rumors of Foo Fighters disbanding spread like wildfire on social media, following the news that the band is on indefinite hiatus in 2015. But the rock legends revealed in January, to the delight of their fans, their 2017 America and Europe tour. The band also announced a trip to Osaka, Japan for the Sonic Summer Festival in August.
The date of the band’s Bangkok concert this year hasn’t been announced yet, but their Thai fans are expecting it could be later this year, not long after their performance in Japan.
Foo Fighters last performance in Bangkok was in January 18, 1996, along with Sonic Youth and Beastie Boys at Indoor Stadium Huamark.
David Grohl, former Nirvana drummer, founded the band in 1994 after Kurt Cobain’s death and Nirvana’s dissolution. The alternative rock band has released eight studio albums, half of which have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album. Some of the band’s popular songs include Everlong and Learn to Fly.
