Floor Exercise: Gymnast Carlos Yulo bags gold anew in SEA Games
Carlos Yulo won another gold medal for the Philippines after his stellar performance in the floor exercise event of the men’s artistic gymnastics in the 30th Southeast Asian Games at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum Tuesday.
The Filipino gymnast who just won on Sunday a gold medal in the SEA Games at the all-around category on Sunday, defeated his opponents in the floor exercise as he scored 14.70 points, which earned him another gold in the process.
Tikumporn Surintornta of Thailand snatched the silver after getting 13.833 points, while Zul Bahrin Mat Asri, also of Thailand, landed third after finishing 13.767 points.
The floor exercise is the same routine where the 19-year-old gymnast won gold in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship in Germany last October.
All eyes were on Yulo after his top finish in the world championships that booked him a ticket in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Munehiro Kugimiya, a Japanese national, is training Yulo for four years already.
