CHIANG MAI — Flaming lanterns can look so romantic and beautiful when they are released during November in celebration of Loy Krathong or Yee Peng in Chiang Mai.
However, they can be a cause of concern especially when they litter the streets the next morning or when they land on power lines and start a fire in the process.
Take for example what happened during the celebration of Yee Peng in Chiang Mai last night. That’s a lot of ruined power lines right there!
