Filipino teachers test negative for the Covid-19 first swab test
BANGKOK — All 165 Filipino teachers who landed in Thailand from the Philippines on August 8 via an Air Asia chartered flight tested negative for the virus.
Committee organizer Mr. Pacifico Ocon II confirmed to Pinoy Legacy that all 165 teachers who arrived last Saturday, August 8 at Suvarnabhumi Airport, tested negative on the first swab test for Covid-19.
“All of them tested negative. They will have the last and final swabbing next week to complete the ASQ protocol,” Mr. Ocon said.
Mr. Donjie Mejia Bardos of Partners of Change for Philippine Federalism, one of the organizers who helped arrange the flight to bring back the teachers to Thailand, also shared on his Facebook the news.
“GOOD NEWS!!! Negative ang resulta nang swab test nang ating mga kapwa Pinoy Teachers na bumalik dito sa Thailand. Salamat Lord 🙏🏼 ,” Bardos wrote.
Bardos also shared with Pinoy Legacy that there will be more groups of Filipinos arriving in Thailand.
“The second batch has been confirmed and will land in Bangkok on August 25, he said.
Bardos also added that the Partners of Change for Philippine Federalism Committee headed by Mr. Edgar Eleguen is now arranging the Balik Abroad Mangagawa Bayanihan Project Batch 3, which is dedicated solely to our kababayan who have been wishing to return to Thailand.
