Filipino teacher in Kalasin dies of cardiac arrest
KALASIN — A 51-year-old Filipino teacher in Kalasin province died last night (June 18) of cardiac arrest.
Teacher Reagan Repunte who taught grade 2-6 students at Saint Joseph Kuchinarai in Kalasin, passed away last night (June 18) after suffering from cardiac arrest.
Marea Danielle Mercado, Repunte’s daughter, told Pinoy Legacy that her father sat down to take a rest after playing basketball at around 7pm last night. “Tatay took a rest right after the game and mentioned that he was having difficulty breathing. A little while later I received a call from a friend who was playing with my tatay and told me that my tatay couldn’t breathe and that they were doing CPR.”
“We drove my tatay straight to the hospital because the ambulance had not arrived after 30 minutes of making the first call. I saw the love of the whole basketball team in trying to save my tatay. They did everything they could. Sadly, my tatay didn’t make it and was pronounced dead at around 10 pm,” Mercado added.
Repunte’s wife, Marilou Lilet Terol, posted on Facebook on how she remembers her husband. An excerpt of her post reads: “I had never seen such a good-hearted person like you. He was very giving, very caring, and very loving.”
“I love you so much Tay and I will miss you forever. May you rest in peace.”
Reagan is survived by his wife and two children who are also in Thailand.
