Filipino singer Morisette Amon experienced a whole new world of happiness when one of her wishes was granted: that is to meet Hollywood actor Will Smith who played Genie in the film as well as share a duet with legendary and Oscar-winning Disney composer Alan Menken.
Morisette documented her trip through a vlog before leaving the Philippines, when she was on the plane going to Tokyo, and before entering the room where Will and Alan were singing.
“A lot of kids in the Philippines grew up to your music – including myself. And it’s such an honor to be meeting you,” Morissette told Alan.
Alan was just as happy meeting the Filipino singer who chosen to sing the local version of “A Whole New World” alongside Darren Espanto for the live-action version of Aladdin.
“Leah told me about you,” the 69-year-old composer said to Morisette. Tony Award winner Leah Salonga was the original singing voice of Princess Jasmine in the animated movie Aladdin.
Unfortunately, Darren Espanto wasn’t able to make it.
