Mr. Sipe, on July 19, formalized his proposal through a resolution filed before the committee which he currently heads. Under his Resolution no. 1, the award will be named ‘Most Outstanding Filipino Community Leader’. According to him, a deserving expat should be awarded for his/her exemplary contributions to the Filipino communities in Thailand; for demonstrating “Bayanihan spirit” – for someone’s selfless dedication to be of service to others; and his/her qualities that mirror responsible citizenship, outstanding character, and leadership.
Once approved, the giving of the award will highlight the gala dinner of the 3rd Filipino Community Leaders’ Congress on October 27, 2017 tentatively scheduled at the Richmond Hotel in Bangkok (Nonthaburi area), which will be attended by Sec. Silvestre Bello III, the DOLE secretary as the guest of honor and speaker.
