Family of deceased OFW in Pattaya posts update, thanks condolers

PATTAYA, Thailand – The family of the deceased OFW Kenneth Chaplen Sagubay who was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident  has posted an update on Facebook Friday.

In the post, Sanlight Sagubay, the sister of the deceased OFW, thanked all those who have extended prayers and financial assistance to the family for Kenneth’s repatriation but has not given definite details as documents are still under process.

“Kami po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng nag alay ng dasal para sa kanya at sa aming pamilya pati sa mga tulong pinansyal at kahit po personally hindi namin kayo kilala napakabusilak po ng inyong mga puso para kami ay tulungan,” Sanlight said.

Kenneth Sagubay, 31, succumbed to severe multiple injuries at Pattaya Memorial Hospital after his body had flown out of the motorcycle he was driving and hit a concrete post early Sunday, April  9 in Pattaya.

According to the post, the family is still waiting for the approval of the release documents of Kenneth’s body from the Police General Hospital.

The post stated that a wake and a holy mass will be offered for Kenneth’s eternal repose at the Redeemer Church in Ruam Rudee. The schedule is yet to be announced by the family who also emphasized that Kenneth’s body will not be cremated as some social media posts say.

The family has already sought assistance from the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok.

“Sa ngayon po, kung kayo ay makaka alay ng dasal para sa kanya ay alam ko po na ikakatuwa nyang lalo. Again, maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat at nais ko pong malaman ninyo na binabasa po namin lahat ng mga mensahe ninyo sa kanya at kami po kahit papano natutuwa dahil ang aming kapatid ay naging bahagi po ng inyong mga buhay, the sister said.

Kenneth Sagubay has left 2 young children and a wife who is 5 months pregnant of their third child.

The family needs at least a hundred thousand baht to bring the deceased body back to the Philippines.
