Coronavirus Cases Update: 8 of the 19 return home, 4 to be released soon
BANGKOK — Of the 19 coronavirus cases in Thailand, eight of the patients have already been sent home, four will also be reunited with their families soon after getting the doctor’s okay, and the seven will remain in the hospital but have seen good improvement in their condition, Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said yesterday, February 3.
According to Anutin as reported by The Nation, two medical teams will be dispatched to Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, for the evacuation of Thais from China — a team from Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute, including emergency physicians, epidemiologists, and psychiatrists, and a military medical team.
“We have also received medical supplies and living necessities graciously donated by King Rama X for Chinese people, which will be delivered to them on the trip,” Anutin said.
All Thais evacuated will be quarantined at designated locations for 14 days and follow practices of good health, including eating hot food, using serving spoons, regularly washing their hands, wearing a mask, and exercising properly, he said.
“If you are strong and are in good health, it will reduce the infection rate and prevent sickness,” Anutin added.
