Cooler temperatures in the north and northeast on the morning of December 4 have been recorded; plummeting even on the plains. In Bangkok at around 7 am this morning, the temperature was 21oC.

According to the Thai Meteorological Department’s forecast, temperatures across Thailand, except the south, will continue to fall until next Tuesday due to an intense cold front from China.

The north and northeast are expected to be blanketed by the cool weather; dropping by 8-10oC to lows of 6-12oC on the plains and as low as 1oC on mountain tops. December 7th to 10th will be the coldest.

Bangkok and its surrounding areas will also experience cooler weather, with minimum temperatures ranging from 15-20oC, Thai PBS reported.

Meanwhile, in the Gulf of Thailand, strong winds with waves of 2-4 meters are expected. People living along the southern coast have been warned of the possibility of storm surges, while small boats are advised to remain ashore, the report added.
