Cabinet approves new round of visa amnesty extension
BANGKOK — The Cabinet announced on Tuesday (July 21) that it extended the visa amnesty for foreigners stranded in Thailand.
Set to expire on July 31, the automatic visa amnesty is now renewed until September 26, said government spokeswoman Traisuree Taisaranakul.
According to officials, the amnesty extension will help travelers particularly those stranded in Thailand due to travel disruption caused by Covid-19.
Under the visa amnesty, foreigners do not need to physically be at any immigration office to extend their stay in Thailand.
