The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is seeking to employ 100 immigration officers that will be deployed to international airports and seaports across the country.

According to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, the new officers will help strengthen their force in looking after our borders and to improve the quality of their service to the public.

“Through this hiring, we intend to provide faster and smoother processing in our ports,” Morente said.

Morente said that those will be hired will be in the position called Immigration Officer I.

The requirement, according to Morente, is to be a graduate of a 4-year course and has a Career Service Professional Second Level Eligibility from the Civil Service Commission.

The ones who will be hired will have to pass exams and will undergo training before they can be deployed to Bureau of Immigration offices as on-the-job trainees,” said Morente.

“We will only deploy immigration officers who will pass the immigration officers’ course,” said Morente.
